Ride On was awarded the exclusive contract with Embark Dundee (the main sponsor) and launched in November 2020 for pilot testing. The service was fully rolled out in March 2021 after the pilot proved to be extremely popular.
There are currently 16 docking stations positioned around Dundee City Centre which connects the city and provides a cost-effective transport option.
All the stations within Dundee are carefully maintained by Ride On’s technicians to ensure they are constantly operational to provide a reliable low carbon mode of transport to the residents of Dundee.
The docking stations come in a variety of sizes to best suit the environment in which they are installed, and every bike is tracked so that Ride On can monitor the popularity of the service in that area.
By the end of the project there will be a total of 30 stations, with the latest stations being placed in populated areas such as housing schemes.
